After trading Ales Hemsky earlier today, the Oilers made another move, sending Nick Schultz to Columbus for a TK round pick.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have been on a tear since Nathan Horton returned from shoulder surgery, and have been busy in the hours leading up to the trade deadline tooling with their roster. After trading Marian Gaborik earlier and clearing cap space, the Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Nick Schultz from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a fifth round draft pick.

The Blue Jackets, seeking to add another defenseman, and afforded that extra cap space by sending Gaborik to the Kings, were able to pull off the deal. Columbus is currently sitting in the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Edmonton continues to stockpile draft picks, as the Oilers have accumulated four future selections over the past two days from dealing Schultz, Ilya Bryzgalov, and Ales Hesmky, although Edmonton sent two picks to Anaheim to acquire Viktor Fasth.
