Joffrey Lupul will return to the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup on Wednesday night when they host the Los Angeles Kings.
When the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night, they will be without their top defenseman, Dion Phaneuf, as he sits out the first game of his two-game suspension. Seeing as how the Kings are one of the best teams in the league and riding a four-game winning streak, that's bad news.
On the bright side, Toronto will be getting back one of their top forwards as Joffrey Lupul will return to the lineup after missing the past seven games with a groin injury.
Lupul told the media on Wednesday morning that he has received medical clearance to play and will be back in the lineup against the Kings.
He last played back on Nov. 25 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, logging just 11 minutes of ice-time in a 6-0 blowout loss.
In 22 games this season Lupul has scored eight goals to go with seven assists. He is Toronto's fifth-leading scorer.
