Draft Day: What Should We Expect from the Kings?

Not much, probably. But we have a first round pick this year!

The draft is tonight! Things you, as a Los Angeles Kings fan, are probably going to do tonight:

1) Bask in the artificial congratulations of 29 other organizations

2) Ignore almost everything else about the first 28 picks, except to laugh at the team that takes a goaltender (probably Thatcher Demko)

3) Also chuckle at Thatcher Demko's fantastic name

4) Cheer wildly for the 29th pick as he puts on a Kings jersey for the first time

5) Watch Dean Lombardi to make sure he's not up to anything

So it should be a fun Friday night. The Kings don't have a lot of trade bait and probably don't intend to change too much when their roster looks like this (with Dwight King 99% to return next season)...

... so unless Lombardi and the Kings pull off a blockbuster, it'll be a quiet Round 1. I'm sure tomorrow, Lombardi will shuffle a few lower-round picks around and we'll be intrigued, but that's all in good time.

Here are the picks:
