You're going to need to do better than this if you want to beat Jonathan Quick on a penalty shot.
It was a rough first period for the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night. Pretty much everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong.
After falling into an early 2-0 hole thanks to goals from Game 7 legend Justin Williams and Jeff Carter, the Ducks finally caught a break. Corey Perry was awarded a penalty shot when he was slashed on a breakaway by Drew Doughty.
And then this happened.

That did not go as planned for Perry. Making matters worse, the Kings responded a minute later with a goal from Mike Richards to take a 3-0 lead.
Los Angeles ended the first period by outshooting the Ducks 15-6, scoring three goals and firing another two shots off the post behind Ducks goalie John Gibson. In other words, it was total domination.
